Announced last week, fan reactions to the new Doctor are still flooding Twitter. Although the initial backlash indicated sour feelings towards Jodie Whittaker, the dust seems to be settling, with many fans praising the decision to cast a female in the title role. Some fans have been so elated with the news that San Diego Comic Con had a few Cosplayers of the character:
We already have Jodie Whittaker cosplay after a single 60 second clip.

Many have taken to Twitter and Facebook in the last week in order to scrutinise the casting, stating that it goes against the character to cast a female in the role. However, criticisms such as this have since been quashed by avid fans who noticed a few choice sayings by Doctors of the past….

Maybe it is time to go with the flow on this one. After all, we have so many strong female characters that are coming through the woodwork. Take a look at Wonder Woman, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Black Widow and Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens. All relatively new heroines for young girls to look up to. Isn’t it time we binned the strong white male lead in favor of more representation? Black Panther, the new Marvel Biopic, is set to be one of the largest grossing Marvel films with a near all black cast, featuring Lupita Nyong’o as a lead female.

I took Daily Mail comments from people angry about a possible Female Dr Who and turned them into episode titles for the new series pic.twitter.com/k586EeVpld
